Ok, first off- I hate the template of my blog, but I'm apparently the only person I know who cannot successfully download templates from thecutestblogontheblock.com. I know the colors are yucky and hard to read. Thanks for reading anyway, because this is apparently how my blog is going to look forever. Boo hoo. :(
Next, I'm reading this book "Steve and Me" by Terri Irwin right now. Oh my gosh, I have cried and cried. It's a good book. Anyone who lives near me and wants to borrow it is welcome to it when I'm done. It's the first time I've ever seen a non-LDS fiction book start with a scriptural dedication.
Oh, and finally- Kelson's Pinewood Derby is tonight. Unfortunately Kelson has slacker, non-handyman type parents who were unable to help him design and complete a new vehicle for this year's race. His options are to recycle last year's model and hope no one recognizes it, or borrow one from Eric from years past. Kelson's last year's truck wasn't too fast, but I don't remember any of Eric's being much better because, well, they both have Troy and I helping construct the things. It's a handicap which I think should shave off some seconds. Thankfully I'm at work so I'm hoping I get there after the races have started and any questions of eligibility have been answered. On the other hand, I'm sorry to send my hubby into the fiery furnace alone. The worst of it, Kelson is so disappointed in us, but also quietly resigned to his fate. Tragic.

Shoot....he could have borrowed the last one that Tracey made a couple of years ago. It's quite lovely. It's nothing more than the "log" of wood with a hammer taken to it to ding it all up. It's painted a lovely shade of brown. The name painted on it is "#2".
Sadly, it never raced. Probably better that way. HA HA HA HA!
Kristy, how could you not race a piece of art like that? At the race tonight, Kelson's car (last year's model) actually did better going BACKWARDS than it did forwards. Also, we had to hot glue on a wheel halfway through. Kelson was overjoyed that he didn't finish dead last in every lap.
Poor Kelson :( I'm glad he enjoyed the race. Fortunately, we will not have to worry about the pinewood derby. However, my girls have all had to make a car out of a mousetrap that can run at least 10ft. I think all of them (so far 3?-can't remember if Miranda had to do one) have just barely made the 10ft on the test drive at home. Maybe the kids remember how far they went at school.
If you need help with your template, I'd be happy to help you out :) Oh, and try something other than the cutestblogontheblock, they are all scrap booky ;)
PS - I tagged you on my blog!
hey! my mousetrap car went at least 12 1/2 feet!!!!
