Hooray! A bunch of us crazy neighborhood women got together for lunch today at Cafe El LLago and planned our neighborhood 4th of July party. This will be our third year- the first year was a blast and last year we got frozen out (the high temp was about 45 degrees). Pray for good weather this year- we've got a blowup water slide, 2 bounce houses, all kinds of goodies, kids' crafts, and general mayhem. Just between the six families planning it, we've got almost forty people. We're hoping to keep it to 200 or so by the time we're all done, so if any of our faraway friends want to come, let me know ASAP!

Our first post :)

Well, here we go. Many of you have been blogging for months (years?) and we've finally gotten on board, too. Our school year is quickly coming to an end- the kids are all excited, and Troy especially can't wait. When school starts again, Breeanne will be in her last year and Lara will be starting her first year. How time flies! We are looking forward to summer- neighborhood barbecues, holiday traditions, and lots of time relaxing. We had our first neighborhood potluck of the year last Saturday night- I'll post some pictures as soon as I get them loaded on. It turned out to be a hotdog extravaganza-- we cooked something like 8 dozen of them! It was also a farewell party for our dear neighbors the VanCotts who are moving to Mesa this weekend. We will miss them but we wish them the best!
